George Manney is a BMI Emmy Nominated songwriter and a voting member of N.A.R.A.S. (GRAMMY people).
Working on the documentary is a healing process for George Manney both mentally and spiritually since a car accident left him with a handicap.
In 1992 George suffered multiple trauma injuries to his body after being struck by a car as he crossed the street. This accident left George with a permanent handicap to adjust to. As he was recuperating, he decided to release & produce a benefit CD for the Philadelphia community: Last Minute Jam Vol.1 in 1996. Volume 2 was released in 1998 after George's mother (Madeline) was struck and killed by a hit & run driver.
George Manney, director of the PBS, WYBE documentary, Pipes of Peace, the Rufus Harley story, was honored when his film was chosen as a - Official Selection - of the Barcelona International Film Festival, in October, 2007
The film was recently selected for the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival, June 2008.
The film received a City Paper Choice Award for 'Best - Most Philly Film' in November, 2007

Manney was also awarded a Honor in 1996-97, Mid Atlantic Emmy Award Honor George Manney (Composer-Producer) for contributing to the winning of a Mid - Atlantic Emmy award by "PRISM MUSIC MAGAZINE OPEN 96" Chosen for Outstanding Production Design
George also produced the Philly band, The Rolling Hayseeds, one of the first of the Alt-Country bands in Philadelphia.
